Fast head turns can occasionally reveal slight lag, but it is far better than any software-based solution I have tested.
Comfort and Build Quality
At 88 grams, the One Pro is heavier than some competitors (the Xreal Air 2 was 72 grams) but lighter than full AR headsets. The weight distribution uses a center-of-gravity design that places most mass over the nose bridge, with lightweight temples extending to the ears.
For sessions under 90 minutes, comfort is good. Beyond that, pressure on the nose bridge becomes noticeable, especially for users with smaller nose bridges. Xreal includes multiple nose pad sizes in the box, which helps, but the fundamental physics of hanging 88 grams off your nose have limits.
The frame is plastic with a matte finish. Build quality feels solid without being premium. The USB-C cable is integrated (not detachable), which simplifies the connection but means a cable failure requires a repair rather than a replacement cable.
Ventilation is adequate. The lenses are darkened but not sealed, so some airflow reaches your eyes. Extended viewing sessions can still cause mild eye fatigue, similar to any near-eye display, but fogging is not an issue in normal indoor conditions.
The Opacity Problem
Here is where honest assessment is required. The One Pro uses birdbath optics with heavily tinted lenses. When the display is active, you effectively cannot see the real world. This is a deliberate design choice: blocking ambient light improves perceived contrast, color accuracy, and the sense of immersion.
But it also means you are blind to your surroundings. Gaming Performance
The 120Hz refresh rate makes gaming feel responsive. The low-persistence micro-OLED panels reduce motion blur effectively, and the overall input-to-display latency (excluding the source device’s own rendering time) is competitive with dedicated gaming monitors.
Playing fast-paced games like racing titles or shooters feels natural. The large virtual screen size combined with true blacks creates genuine immersion, particularly for darker games where OLED contrast shines.
The limitation is resolution. At 1080p per eye, text-heavy games or strategy titles with small UI elements can appear slightly soft. 4K content is downsampled to the native resolution, which still looks good but loses fine detail compared to a dedicated 4K display.
Battery Life
The One Pro has a small internal battery that lasts approximately 3.5 to 4 hours with active head tracking and display stabilization. It charges over USB-C from the connected device simultaneously, so if your source device can provide sufficient power (most laptops can), you can use the glasses indefinitely while plugged in.
When connected to devices that cannot provide power (Nintendo Switch in handheld mode, some phones), the internal battery is your limit. Four hours is adequate for a movie or gaming session but not for all-day use.

If this describes you, the One Pro at $599 is the best option available today. The combination of the X1 chip’s effortless stabilization, the micro-OLED display quality, and the 57-degree FOV creates the most convincing personal theater experience in glasses form.
If you want actual AR (digital objects placed in your real environment), look elsewhere. The One Pro is not that product, regardless of how it is marketed.

The integrated cable should be detachable. A cable failure should not require sending the entire unit for repair.
Weight could be reduced by 10 to 15 grams with next-generation optics, which would significantly improve long-session comfort.
